Grapes of Valpolicella
Veneto's versatile red blend, ranging from bright everyday wine to the richer Ripasso style.
Valpolicella comes from the hills north of Verona and is built on a blend led by Corvina, supported by Rondinella and other local grapes. In its basic form it is a fresh, light-bodied red full of sour cherry and a signature bitter-almond twist.
The region's more ambitious styles come from concentration: Ripasso re-ferments the young wine on the leftover skins of dried Amarone grapes, adding body and depth — a bridge between everyday Valpolicella and its powerful Amarone sibling.
Production is recorded by region, not by appellation.
