Wines of Slovakia

Wine production in Slovakia has a long history dating back to Celtic and Roman times, with the Tokaj region shared with Hungary being particularly notable. Slovak vineyards are concentrated in the southern part of the country, benefiting from warm Pannonian climate influences. The country is known for white wines from varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, and the sparkling wines of the Small Carpathian region.
