Wines of Peru

Wine production in Peru began in the 16th century with Spanish colonists, making it one of the earliest wine-producing countries in South America. The industry centered around the Ica Valley, which remains the heart of Peruvian viticulture today. Peru is known for its Pisco brandy as well as table wines from Quebranta, Tannat, and international grape varieties.
