Wines of Myanmar

Wine production in Myanmar is a relatively recent development, beginning in the late 1990s with the establishment of vineyards in the Shan Plateau at high elevations. The tropical climate posed unique challenges that were addressed through careful site selection and innovative viticultural techniques. Myanmar's small but growing wine industry produces wines from varieties including Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, and Dornfelder.
