Wines of Mexico

Wine production in Mexico began in the 16th century with Spanish conquistadors, making it the oldest wine-producing country in the Americas. The industry declined during colonial restrictions and the Mexican Revolution but has experienced a renaissance since the late 20th century. Mexico's key wine region is the Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California, producing varieties such as Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, and Grenache.
