Wine production in China has a history dating back to the Han Dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE). The modern Chinese wine industry began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with a focus on domestic grape varieties like Cabernet Gernischt. Today, China is the seventh-largest wine producer, with key regions including Ningxia, Shandong, and Xinjiang.
